Reading downwards, our planning roadmap extends into the future. The further you go beyond the in-progres work, the less certain things become. We’re not averse to changing things at any time, so treat this as current indicative thinking rather than any sort of promise.

Multi-node wikipedia

A region can serve an offline mirror of wikipedia, provided with redundancy by multiple nodes

Node stewards can mirror websites

Adding more complex app configurations allows Node Stewards to choose what their node serves up.

Static websites for individuals

Serving simple static websites provides our first example of P2P user configuration across the region.

Email for individuals

Let’s give people free email accounts at the default region domain, synchronised across the region and useable both seemlessly over the internet and directly at a node.

Nodes communicate using LoRa

Nodes can optionally communicate over LoRa when the internet is unavailable, and can use this to synchronise data such as users, app status and internal emails.

Custom domains

Individuals can register custom domains and use them for their personal websites and email addresses.

Organisations

Organisations can be registered, with multiple users or sub-orgs having different access rights. Organisations can also have custom domains, websites, and email addresses.
